IGas Energy has encountered two shale formations, including the Bowland shale, at its latest well onshore England. London-listed IGas encountered the primary target coal at the Irlam-1 exploration well at Barton Moss, Eccles in England. It also intersected the secondary target of the Dinantian limestone and found a package containing the Sabden and Bowland shale formations, where it has acquired more than 122m (400ft) of core for analysis.
