Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University (RGU) islaunching a data technologies centre that willfocus on ‘Big Data’ analytics, especially for the oiland gas sector.The ‘Centre for Smart Data Technologies’ hasbeen set up to help the industry secure “hugeefficiencies” from the use of analytics to extractadded value for processes such as increasingspeed to first oil, as well as enhancing production,improving asset maintenance and reliability,reducing risks in health, safety and the environmentand reducing costs.
