Canary Islands yard deal

Norway’s Sub Sea Services has set up a joint ven- ture with the Astican Shopyard in Las Palmas, Canary Islands to carry out rig maintenance and repair work for the West Africa offshore drilling market. The agreement signed with Astican Shipyard will give the Stavanger-based rig servicing com- pany a base from which to target work on around 60 drillships and semi-submersibles that are cur- rently operating off West Africa.
