Brazil’s state-owned Petrobras has made its first deepwater discovery in Brazil’s frontier Potiguar Basin offshore the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Petrobras said its 1-RNS-158 well on the Pitu prospect encountered an oil accumulation while drilling to a final depth of 16,497ft (5,028m).
