Kashagan taps turned on

Eni has pumped first oil from the giant Kashagan oil field in the Kazakh sector of the North Caspian Sea. In the initial phase output will grow to 180,000 b/d. Production will then increase progressively to 370,000 boe/d. The start up of the field has been continually pushed back in recent years due to the complexities of the development.
