Jan Mayen survey funding

Norway is looking to provide more money for geological surveys offshore Jan Mayen Island, where the new government has decided to mothball licensing of new blocks. The outgoing Labour-led government has decided on increased spending of US $21.6m for survey work in the eastern part of the Barents Sea and northeast Norwegian Sea, as well as around the remote island on the ice edge of the Arctic Ocean, in its proposed Budget for 2014.
