Keppel scoops $1.1 Bn deal

Singapore’s Keppel FELS has landed a US $1.1 Bn contract from Transocean to build five highspec jack-ups with an option for five more. Transocean had been looking to order the units, with all 10 worth around $2 Bn, as it strives to reestablish a strong position in the shallow-water market after offloading older jack-ups.
