…and starts Venezuela Junín-5

The PetroJunín joint venture between Venezuela’s state player PDVSA (60%) and Italy’s Eni (40%) has started production from the huge Junín-5 heavy oil field in the Faja del Orinoco, Venezuela. The area has the largest untapped hydrocarbon reserves in the world, according to Eni. The Junín-5 Block is located around 550km southeast of Caracas and covers an area of around 425sq km.
