Alder subsea tieback planned

Chevron plans to produce its UK North Sea Alder gas/condensate discovery as a single well subsea tieback to the Britannia platform. Alder in Block 15/29a will be tied back 27km to the Britannia platform via a 16-inch pipeline and umbilical. Chevron said in an Environmental Statement for the project that a second well may be drilled in the future. Drilling and well completion work is set to be carried out on Alder in Q2 2014, with installation of the new Alder module on to the Britannia plat- form scheduled for Q3 that year.
