Kenya find disappointment

The recent Mbawa-1 exploration well in the Block L8 offshore Kenya, which found gas, has tasted disappointment at a deeper level. The Mbawa-1 exploration well encountered around 171ft (52m) of net gas pay in the primary target (see E&P Daily 10 September). However, the deeper, secondary target did not contain hydro- carbons, said partner Tullow Oil. The well was deepened and reached a total depth of 10,338ft (3,151m).
