France's Total has reported that higher expenses and an increased depreciation bill cut into strong revenues to result in a sharp dip in profit for Q2 2012, compared to Q2 2011. The Elgin gas leak in the UK North Sea and other incidents that occured in Nigeria and Yemen hit upstream to see overall production drop by 2%: from 2.311m boe/d in Q2 2011 to 2.261m boe/d in Q2 this year.
