Statoil has spun the bit in the 6104/21-2 Brugdan II exploration well offshore the Faroe Islands. The well is being drilled in Licence 006 with the COSL Pioneer semisubmersible rig in a water depth of around 1,476ft (450m). Brugdan is a large four-way dip closure in the Tertiary that was previously dri l led in 2006 by the 6104/21-1 well, which was abandoned prior to reaching the Vaila Sandstone target due to mechanical issues. The well is expected to take four to five months to complete.
