Shell eyes China block stake

Canada’s Ivanhoe Energy plans to sell its stake in the Zitong Block in China’s Sichuan Basin to Shell for US $160m. Ivanhoe said its subsidiary Sunwing Zitong Energy will receive up to $85m from Shell as reimbursement for past qualified and recoverable costs. Shell will pay another $75m when the deal closes, which is expected by the end of the year.
