Vietnam’s state-owned PetroVietnam is about to offer a joint venture pact to Japanese players to jointly develop oil and gas fields in the South China Sea. Next month, PetroVietnam is to make the offer for jointly developing 20 or more blocks in the South China Sea, reported the Nikkei Shimbun said. These blocks will include a northern area in the Gulf of Tonkin near the Chinese border, as well as central, southeastern, southwestern and other sites, according to the report.
