Gazprom profit boost

Russia's Gazprom increased profit by 35% n 2011 due to higher gas production and prices. Gazprom saw net income attributable to share- holders increase to US $45.53 Bn from $33.98 Bn in 2010, as net sales of gas to Europe and other Former Soviet Union countries rose 29% to $157.66 Bn year-on-year. The figures beat analyst forecasts in a Reuters poll of net income of $43.15 Bn and sales of $156.99 Bn.
