Shell UK has confirmed the oil leak in a flow line to its Gannet Alpha platform in the UK North Sea has been brought under control. The subsea well was shut in last Wednesday and the flowline on the seabed has now been isolated and depressurised. Leakage of oil has been considerably reduced.
