Italy’s Eni has made “a new giant” gas discovery with the Mamba North 1 exploration well in Offshore Area 4, Mozambique – which Eni says holds a potential 7.5 Tcf (212.5 Bcm) of gas in place. “This new discovery, in addition to the Mamba South discovery from October 2011, further increases the potential of the Mamba complex in the Area 4. It is estimated that the total volume of gas in place reaches around 30.0 Tcf (850 Bcm),” said Eni.
