Troll A set for $2 Bn investment

Statoil and its partners in the Troll licence are set to invest US $1.97 Bn in two new compressors on Troll A. The compressors will extend the life of the gas field to 2063 and form the final phase of the planned capacity expansion on Troll A. “A third of all gas capacity on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) is produced on Troll A, making Troll the corner stone of gas supplies to the continent. This will be the case for many years to come,” said Hans Jakob Hegge, senior vice president for operations North Sea east.
