Max Petroleum is making steady progress on its Blocks A&E licence area in Kazakhstan and has firmed up a discovery. The Uytas oil discovery has been confirmed via initial test results from the Cretaceous reservoir in the UTS-1 discovery well which indicate a 180ft (55m) oil column with 102ft (31m) of net oil pay.
