Apache buys into Kenya

Origin Energy has agreed a deal with Apache Corp for the latter to acquire a 50% stake in a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for Block L8 in the Lamu Basin offshore Kenya. Under the terms of the agreement Origin will be paid US $13.2m and Apache will become operator of the PSC. Apache will also meet some of Origin's costs of an exploration well to be drilled in Block L8 on the Mbawa structure.
