FMC Technologies has agreed a US $70m deal withStatoil for the manufacture and supply of a work-over system for the Statfjord field offshore Norway.Statoil will use the workover system to performintervention activities on its subsea wells in orderto increase performance and enhance oil recov-ery. It will be the first standardised workover sys-tem supplied to Statoil by FMC.“This workover system is designed to supportStatoil’s rig scheduling programme and its stan-dardised subsea equipment,” said Tore Halvorsen,FMC’s senior vice president of Global SubseaProduction Systems.
