Total today reported first quarter net income of 2.3 Bn Euros (US $3 Bn), up 9% from the same period in 2009. Profits were boosted by the company’s upstream division thanks to a 79% jump in the price it received for its oil and a 4.5% rise in production compared with the first quarter of 2009, to 2.43m boe/d.
