Bass Strait wildcat

ExxonMobil and BHP Billiton have kicked off the SE Remora-1 exploration well in the Bass Strait offshore southeast Australia. BHP said the SE Remora-1 well is drilling ahead in the Vic/RL4 permit. The partners have been producing oil and gas in the Bass Strait for more than 40 years but this is the first exploration well to be drilled by them for some years.
