The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has launched the awards in pre-defined areas (APA) 2009 licensing round. The round will see blocks coming up for grabs in the North Sea, the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea. APA 2009 comprises the same predefined areas as APA 2008, and no new areas have been added. The application deadline is 15 September and the awards will be made in late 2009 or early 2010.
