Sevan takes a hit…

Round rig maker Sevan Marine said today that it made a loss of US $68.5m in the fourth quarter of 2008, compared to a loss of $18.1m in the same period in 2007. The company said it was hit by a one-off cost of $60.8m for mobilising and installing the FPSO Sevan Hummingbird on the Chestnut field in the UK North Sea. It has also been forced to write off $4.3m it was owed by Oilexco, which has gone into administration.
