Wintershall hits Norway pay

Wintershall has hit pay in its Grosbeak wildcat well 35/12-2 offshore Norway which was spudded at the beginning of July. The well has proved both oil and gas and was drilled 10km northeast of the Fram field. The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said in a statement: "The well proved oil and gas in the Sognefjord formation and oil in the Brent group. Extensive data acquisition and sampling have been carried out in both reservoir zones."
