A new report by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) reveals that while safety on the UK's offshore oil platforms is improving, the "challenges are ongoing." The HSE said the offshore industry is in a transitional phase with the price of oil significantly down on a year earlier, the recession tightening the purse strings on company's budgets, and "its health and safety record is under the microscope like never before."
