Det norske oljeselskap's wildcat well 6306/6-2, which was drilled 65km east of the Ormen Lange field offshore Norway has come up dry. The objective of the well was to prove petroleum in Upper Jurassic reservoir rocks (the Viking group), but no reservoir rocks were found, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said today.
