Husky Energy has completed drilling and testing of the first appraisal well on the deepwater Liwan 3-1 field on Block 29/26 in the South China Sea - with tenders for the Front-End Engineering and Design (FEED) work now imminent. The West Hercules deepwater drilling rig started drilling the first appraisal well in November 2008. The Liwan 3-1-2 appraisal was drilled and tested at a water depth of 4,413ft (1,345m) in the Pearl River Mouth Basin. It was drilled to a total vertical depth of 12,753ft (3,887m) below sea level.
