Raffles eyes jackup supremacy

Yantai Raffles is gearing up to construct a shipyard in China at a cost of US $43m as it looks to become the major supplier of jackup drilling rigs in the world. Yantai has entered into an agreement to buy 100% interest in the Sanlian Longkou shipyard in Shandong. The yard has an existing land area of more than 400sq km and will be built as one of the world's largest jackup fabrication centres, said Yantai.
