China has signed a contract with Myanmar to build cross boarder oil and gas pipelines which will allow Beijing to cut the travelling time for imports, according to a statement by the Chinese central government. An energy official said that China was working with Myanmar to build more than 2,000km of gas and oil pipelines running through Ruili and Kunming in Yunnan province, Guizhou province to Chongqing municipality in southwest China.
