Statoil said today that its second quarter net income came in at US 1.87 Bn, compared to 1.67 Bn in the second quarter of 2006.However, first half 2007 net income was down to 3.2 Bn against 3.5 Bn in the same period last time. Statoil said the 11% increase in net income in the second quarter was mainly due to lower income taxes and higher sales volumes of gas.
