US operator Vaalco Energy has signed up for Block 05/06 offshore Angola.Vaalco will have a 40% stake in the block, while Norway's Interoil will have 40% and Angola's state-owned Sonangol 20%.The US company said that 12 wells had been drilled on the acreage, resulting in at least five discoveries, although none of these have been developed. Vaalco and partners will reprocess a 3D seismic survey in preparations for the start of drilling in late 2007 or early 2008.
