Woodside profit jumps 20%

Australia's Woodside has reported a 19.9% rise in profit for the first half of 2006, compared to the same period last year, with first half profit this year hitting US 401m due to higher oil and gas prices.EBIT for the quarter was also up from 484m in 2005 to 605m in 2006, while revenue increased by 26.3% to 1.20 Bn.
