Nigeria's top explorers put a brave face on the challenges confronting the country's oil and gas sector in Lagos last week, lamenting that failure to build reserves will leave a dire legacy for future generations. The last 10 years have seen less than 4 billion barrels of oil discovered, according to one speaker, while depletion of oil reserves -- which were estimated at 26 billion bbl in 2015 -- is paving the way for a decline in production after 2020 ( IOD Nov.16'16 ).
