Oil futures plunged on Tuesday as the market rapidly lost hope that any sort of deal between Opec members and Russia to halt incremental crude production would be reached. Analysts said the positions of several Opec members are simply too far apart for them to reach an accord, a state of affairs that is particularly true of Saudi Arabia and Iran.
