Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (Adnoc) wants to boost its offshore oil production capacity to 2 million barrels per day over the next eight years, with some 250,000 b/d of that volume to come from a new phase of the giant offshore Upper Zakum project, in which Exxon Mobil is a major shareholder, a senior company executive said. "The ultimate target is to produce 2 million b/d offshore around 2024. That's 1 million from Adma and 1 million from Zadco," Qasem al-Kayoumi, offshore division manager at Adnoc's exploration and production directorate, said on the sidelines of the Middle East Petroleum & Gas Conference in Abu Dhabi recently. He added that Adnoc's overall offshore production presently stands at around 1.3 million-1.4 million b/d.
