Market Eye: Forties Premiums Near Two-Year High

As traders closed the book on 2015, North Sea Forties crude oil differentials climbed to their highest values in nearly two years on the back of tightening supply and strong demand from Asia. Forties spot prices closed at a dated Brent premium of $1.20 per barrel on Dec. 31, surpassing the 12-month highs of dated Brent plus 95￠ seen in July and challenging the January 2014 peaks of plus $1.50.
