India's addiction to crude oil from the Mideast Gulf shows no signs of easing despite lawmakers urging the federal oil ministry to diversify the country's supplier base. Indian refineries imported 34.9 million tons, or 2.8 million barrels per day, of crude from the Middle East in the first three months of the fiscal year that began Apr. 1, accounting for 65.6% of the country's total imports, Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan told parliament last week.
