The majors have been synonymous with megaprojects for decades, but the current period of low oil and gas prices has broken down that link as far as Chevron is concerned. "I just don't see us taking on multiple megaprojects simultaneously like we've just been through," Jay Johnson, Chevron's head of upstream, told analysts in New York on Tuesday. "We seized an opportunity, and I think it was the right move to do it, but it was difficult to get through," he added.
