Despite initial bearish technical signals, the September Brent contract picked nearly 5% on Tuesday as the US dollar weakened and most equity markets showed minor gains. In London, Brent on ICE Futures added a robust $2.22 to close at $48.47 per barrel, as the bulls engineered a reversal and helped Brent avoid falling through a support level at $44.90.
