Russian Crude Exports Track Rise in Production

With Russian crude oil output hitting a post- Soviet record high in 2015, producers took advantage to increase their export volumes and partially offset the fall in oil prices. Russian crude exports to non-former Soviet Union countries stood at 4.42 million barrels per day (220.27 million metric tons) last year, up by 1% from 4 million b/d in 2014, according to data from the country's energy ministry, partly thanks to a 2% increase in shipments to China. Exports to neighboring Kazakhstan and Belarus stood at 454,440 b/d, almost flat yearon- year.
