Oil product fortunes in Europe have been turned on their head in recent weeks, with bottom - of - the - barrel fuel oil firming against crude as lighter ends, in particular gasoline, continue to lose considerable ground. Fuel oil has gained one - third in value against crude in the last month -- its discount narrowing from over $15 per barrel to a five - month low of barely $10/bbl on Jul. 11 -- at the same time that gasoline has lost almost 40% of its premium over Brent ( IOD Jul.12'16 ).
