Court Rejects Rosneft Plea, Bolsters Gazprom's LNG Plan

A Russian arbitration court has rejected a lawsuit filed by Rosneft seeking access to a pipeline held by Gazprom on Sakhalin Island, strengthening the latter's position in a competition between the two Russian energy giants to develop new LNG projects in the region. Rosneft will contest the Sakhalin arbitration court's ruling, according to company spokesman Mikhail Leontyev.
