Gazprom Gives Discount to Turkish Importers

Russia's Gazprom has reportedly agreed to provide discounts to private gas importers in Turkey, although negotiations with state-run Botas are still in a deadlock. Gazprom declined to comment on reports by the Kommersant newspaper that it had given a number of private Turkish importers, including Akfel Gas, in which Gazprom is buying a stake, a 25% retroactive discount in the first quarter and an additional 15% discount in the second quarter. This would cut the price from last year's $374/Mcm to some $260/Mcm in May, Kommersant sources say.
