Statoil Sets Up 'New Energy' Unit, Continues Management Shake-Up

Norway's Statoil underlined its ambitions in renewable energy and low-carbon production, announcing on Tuesday the creation of a dedicated "New Energy" business unit as part of a major shake-up of the group's senior management team. The New Energy Solutions business will be led by Executive Vice President Irene Rummelhoff, formerly head of exploration in Norway, starting from Jun. 1. In other highprofile moves, Statoil appointed Hans Jacob Hegge as its new chief financial officer, after moving incumbent Torgrim Reitan to head up the group's US business. That follows the departure of Bill Maloney who, according to Statoil, decided not to renew his contract with the company.
