Yemen's state oil product distributor has urged the UN to demand an end to the Saudi-led blockade of the country's ports to allow fuel imports, as stocks are almost depleted and emergency services are being endangered. Yemen Petroleum Co. (YPC), headquartered in the rebel Houthi-held capital Sanaa, called the current situation "catastrophic," saying its dwindling supplies of gasoline and diesel are being directed towards essential humanitarian functions, such as powering hospitals.
