BG, Statoil Boost Norwegian Output With Knarr Field Start-Up

In a boost for production on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, BG announced Wednesday the start - up of the Knarr oil and gas field, targeting around 80 million barrels of oil equivalent of proven reserves. Discovered in 2008, the northern North Sea Knarr field was developed in water depths of around 400 meters with two facilities on the seabed and the Petrojarl Knarr floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel. The FPSO, leased from Teekay Corp., is moored around 120 kilometers off Norway with a production capacity of 63,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and storage production capacity of 800,000 bbl.
