Russia's top private oil producer, Lukoil, said Friday it attracted a $1 billion loan from a consortium of international banks to finance its share of the Shah Deniz gas development in Azerbaijan. The credit-facility agreement was signed by Lukoil Overseas Shah Deniz Ltd. and included two arrangements. One is for $560 million to be provided for 12 years jointly by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank. The remaining amount of $440 million is to be facilitated for 10 years by a syndicate of commercial banks, including ING Bank N.V., the Bank of China, UniCredit AG and Societe Generale via B Loan programs of the EBRD and ADB, the Russian major said in its statement.
