Russia's top independent oil producer Lukoil has filed a lawsuit with a London arbitration court against China's Sinopec for failing to complete acquisition of Lukoil's 50% in Kazakhstan's Caspian Investment Resources (IOD Apr.16'14). Sinopec, which already has the remaining 50% in Caspian Investment Resources, refused to complete the $1.2 billion deal, Lukoil said in a statement, adding that it regards Sinopec's actions as a violation of the agreement signed last April. Lukoil expected to close the deal by the end of last year.
